A Thunderstorm...On The Very First Sunday of The Year? I know it's proabably Global Warming, but Really?

So today, I recently check out on the National Weather Service website to see today's conditions. And several days after the website stated that it's just going to be rain today, the Norman, VA office at the National Weather Service (who probably operate this local potion of the website) now tells that there could be 'possiblly' a thunderstorm 'between 1 and 4pm'.

You know I remember a bus driver assistant (when I was a freshman) said that "I don't trust the weatherman" since it's not supposed to be raining or he changes the daily weather again and again without a proper confimation.

Though I just don't the way they covering the weather (there are four different weather teams in four different local television stations in my Washington, D.C. area hometown; they all come up with different forecast when it comes to predicting rain, storm, and temperatures), to be fair the weather meteorologists can't always predict what's going to happen ahead of the weather, maybe even the meteorologist at the National Weather Service.

On the other side of the story, a thunderstorm...on the very first Sunday of the year? Is it Global Warming? Some people think it is at the time of the early 2010s.

Okay, I already know that thunderstorms, tornadoes, or any kinds of severe weather can happen anywhere, anytime, no matter what season it is, no matter what holiday it is, no matter what city you live in (yes, tornado warnings have been issued in downtown cities in the last decade; even some tornadoes rip through Miami, St. Louis, and Brooklyn in the last two decades).

And yes, severe weather happened on the Christmas holiday too for the past two years but not in my hometown, although there was an usually forecast for thunderstorms on Christmas Eve; it quickly gone back to rain and no rumble of thunder happened on that day.

Maybe Global Warming is just getting started. Some people say that global warming even started after the blizzards we have in late 2009-early 2010. Maybe I believe that Global Warming, in my own words, means that when the water is unusually warm then storms begin to form and hit the land in very unusually circumstances. However, I doubt that we enter a Global Warming age. Not yet...for now. Or never.

I just don't like to live anywhere in the United Sates of America but a Maryland city near Washington, D.C. That area is not prone to tornadoes that much, especially in the winter, spring, and fall seasons. It would be worrying and terrifying to be if we're under a moderate or a high risk for severe weather - which what I call it unusual - even a slight risk worries me.

While I would love to travel to cities like New York City and London (a city from the United Kingdom), but I would have to check on the weather before I could travel (and also have to pay attention to the instructions, whereabouts and everything else on an airline or an airplane).

*sighs* Let's hope there's no thunderstorm passing through today. Thanks for reading.
